USI Employee Spotlight: Randy Cizek

• Before working at USI what was your most unusual or interesting job that you had?
Over 20 years ago, I managed a hobby shop that specialized in radio control cars, trucks and airplanes.
• What are you currently binge watching?
NFL Football, but that ended last Sunday. (We asked Randy this question during football season 🙂 )
• If you could have any superpower what would it be?
Oh, I want to be Iron Man.
• If you could learn anything, what would it be?
How to be Iron Man.
• When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
An engineer. Not the type you’re thinking; I wanted to drive trains.
• What is one food that you cannot resist?
Almost any seafood.
• Where is your favorite place to be?
“The Point”, Cape Hatteras, NC., fishing rod in hand.
• What’s something you like to do the old-fashioned way?
Barbecue.
• What is the best piece of advice that you have ever received?
Love one another.
• If you had 1 free hour each day, what would you do?
Is it summer or winter? Am I at work, at home, or somewhere else? I think I’m going to need more than an hour…
• Do you have any strange phobias?
I’m a little leery of silly questions.
• If you could add one thing to the USI office, what would it be?
Recycle bins.
• What has been your favorite project at USI?
TravelCenters of America
• What is your favorite part about working for USI?
My co-workers
• People would be surprised if they knew what about you?
I studied in Australia for a year while in high school.
• What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
Probably a vehicle.
• What was the best concert you ever attended?
This is a tough call. I’ll go with the Santana show in 2019 at Blossom.
• What are you passionate about?
My family
• What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
One that involved a nice summer evening, clusters of family and friends talking and laughing on the deck and patio, music playing in the background, and dinner is something from a grill, smoker, or other outdoor appliance. I’ve had many.
• What are some of your pet peeves?
Grammar mistakes, punctuation mistakes, sentence structure mistakes…
