USI Employee Spotlight: Christie Speicher

• Before working at USI what was your most unusual or interesting job that you had?
My very first real paying job was dressing men, yes dressing men. LOVED that job!!! I helped men shop for suits, ties, accessories, cologne…Boy, did I meet some very interesting people.

• What are you currently binge watching?
Last weeks “Live w/ Kelly and Ryan” shows.

• If you could have any superpower what would it be?
I’d like to be a genie who with a blink of my eye can have the laundry, house cleaned, yardwork, etc. done in a flash.

• If you could learn anything, what would it be?
How to speak French.

• When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A nurse, until I realized I can’t stand the site of needles.

• What is one food that you cannot resist?
Homemade chocolate chip cookies w/ pecans.

• Where is your favorite place to be?
Florida Keys.

• What’s something you like to do the old-fashioned way?
Make new clothes using my sewing machine. Haven’t had free time to do that in a LONG time.

• What is the best piece of advice that you have ever received?
Smile…Sometimes, it’s contagious.

• If you had 1 free hour each day, what would you do?
Take a nap.

• Do you have any strange phobias?
Afraid of scary clowns.

• If you could add one thing to the USI office, what would it be?
A patio outside w/ lounge chairs, picnic table, grill for lunch time during the warmer months. Or a fireplace.

• What has been your favorite project at USI?
Believe it or not, balancing bank statements.

• What is your favorite part about working for USI?
Watching this business grow!!

• People would be surprised if they knew what about you?
I hate cleaning ovens. Either had my roommate do it or moved or bought a new one! TRUE story, ask my sister!!! Thank goodness for self-cleaning ovens!!!

• What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
After paying off our debt, I’d buy a condo in the Keys.

• What was the best concert you ever attended?
Genesis at Richfield Coliseum

• What are you passionate about?
Hard one…My kids happiness.

• What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
Went four-wheeling in the mud. Truly out of my element!

• What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
The meal someone else makes and cleans up after!

• What are some of your pet peeves?
Using the second to last or last item of something and not replenishing for the next person.
