USI Employee Spotlight: John Miller

• Before working at USI what was your most unusual or interesting job that you had?
Before working for USI, the most interesting job that I’ve done was when I did my internship in college, I was a community construction manager, building single families and townhomes, I was able to watch the homeowners dream homes get built and the smile on their face when it was finished was priceless!
• What are you currently binge watching?
Currently I am binge watching Fairy Tale 100 Years Quest
• If you could have any superpower what would it be?
It would definitely be flying or teleportation kind of the same thing but to travel anywhere at any point sounds like fun to me. 
• If you could learn anything, what would it be?
If I can learn anything it would be how real estate investing.
• When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be couple things but first overall was a baseball player but then I wanted to be an officer in the military.
• What is one food that you cannot resist?
CRAB LEGS🦀
• Where is your favorite place to be?
Somewhere outdoors where I can fish! Or the beach 🏖️
• What’s something you like to do the old-fashioned way?
The thing I still do the old-fashioned way is a To do list on paper instead of looking at my phone I can checkmark stuff off easier.
• What is the best piece of advice that you have ever received?
The best piece of advice that someone gave me was from my mom “treat others how you want to be treated” this one has always stuck with me.
• If you had 1 free hour each day, what would you do?
Honestly, I would probably play some video games or watch some YouTube.
• Do you have any strange phobias?
Arachnophobia which means spiders! 🕷️
• If you could add one thing to the USI office, what would it be?
I think we should add a lounge/bar with a pool table!
• What has been your favorite project at USI?
I’ve been on a few projects with USI I think my favorite project would either be Amazon or Cobblestone, Amazon because it’s just a unique and different product that hasn’t been seen in the industry. Cobblestone because I was always interested in solar and how it is used.
• What is your favorite part about working for USI? 
My favorite thing about USI is the people and great conversations.
• People would be surprised if they knew what about you?
That I double majored in Construction Management and Business
• What is the first thing you would buy if you won the lottery?
The first thing I would do is I would invest it and also take my family on vacation.
• What was the best concert you ever attended?
The best concert I have attended was Nickleback and Daughtry such an awesome experience!
• What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about my family and my growth as a person.
• What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever done?
I went sky diving once and never again!!
• What’s the best meal you’ve ever had?
When I bought wagyu steak and made it with some crab legs, potatoes and green beans can’t forget the vegetables
• What are some of your pet peeves?
Some of my pet peeves is talking with your mouth full and snoring 😴
